Duphalac contains a laxative called lactulose. By binding water in the intestines, it softens and facilitates passage through the abdominal cavity. Lactulose is not absorbed by the body. Duphalac is used to treat constipation (irregular bowel movements, hard and dry stools) to promote soft bowel movements.
